CHAPTER 024 REGULATORY SECTIONS

Builds, Spots & Server Areas

Rules regarding bases, spam, building sites, public areas and prohibited spots.

01

Prohibited glitch, mesh and building spots

Building in areas that can only be accessed via bugs, glitches or obviously unintended methods is prohibited.

These include, for example, additions via:

  • Tek Punch
  • Grappling Hooks
  • Knockout methods
  • specific structures or items
  • Clipping
  • Mesh access points
  • Dino Mechanics
  • comparable unintentional methods

A spot may still be prohibited even if ARK technically allows a structure to be placed there.

The Dark Master Team may ban a spot if it:

  • lies within the mesh or partly within the mesh
  • can only be accessed via a glitch
  • is practically impossible to raid
  • is due to a map error
  • significantly impairs normal PvP
  • is clearly not intended to be a standard building plot

Structures located at clearly prohibited sites may be removed without compensation.

02

Spawn points, orbs, terminals and public areas

Spawn points, orbs, terminals, obelisks and other important public areas must not be built on, blocked or obscured.

This applies in particular to:

  • Spawn points
  • Terminals
  • Obelisks
  • Orbs
  • New artefact acquisitions
  • major cave entrances
  • Mission areas
  • Key teleporters
  • other necessary public access points

Blocking by Dinos or spam is also prohibited.

03

Spam patterns and spam limits

Ordinary spam aimed at securing the immediate area around your own base is permitted.

The maximum per tribe and map is 700 spam sites permitted.

In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • Official Spam
  • Tek Generator spam
  • Tek-Light spam
  • painted spam
  • Widespread spam with no connection to one’s own user base
  • Spam sent solely to reserve a domain name
  • Spam in public areas or at key access points

All spam structures must be destructible using regular expressions.

If a tribe is asked to reduce its numbers, it must comply with this request.

04

Base limit

The maximum per tribe is 2 bases per map permitted.

The following, in particular, may be regarded as additional bases:

  • hidden satellite camps
  • expanded farming bases
  • separate dinosaur camps
  • hidden loot caches
  • Permanently established secondary sites
  • bases run by fake or secondary tribes

Small, temporary farm or auxiliary structures are not automatically considered to be additional bases.

In cases of doubt, the Dark Master Team will make a decision based on size, features and actual use.
